Pomona Road Reservoir – Precast Excellence for Fulton Hogan

Specialised Concrete Products (SCP) is proud to have contributed to the successful delivery of the Pomona Road Reservoir project, completed on behalf of Fulton Hogan. Designed to hold 2,500 m³ or 2,500,000 L of water, the reservoir forms a critical piece of local water infrastructure, providing vital water storage for Mapua and surrounding areas.

For the Pomona Road Reservoir, SCP was responsible for the manufacture of a comprehensive suite of prestressed and precast elements, tailored to meet the structural and durability demands of a high-capacity water-retaining structure.



Scope of Supply

SCP manufactured and supplied the following key components for the reservoir structure:

• 28 prestressed curved wall panels, engineered to precise radii to form the primary reservoir wall
• 4 prestressed pilasters, providing critical structural support and load transfer
• 55 prestressed roof sections, designed for strength, and a formwork for a in-situ topping slab. 
• 1 precast capital, designed for internally roof support

All elements were produced under strict quality control procedures, ensuring dimensional accuracy, structural performance, and long-term durability in a demanding water infrastructure environment.

Integrated Logistics and Cranage

In addition to manufacturing, SCP, together with its sister company Lift N Shift Ltd, delivered a fully integrated logistics solution for the project. This included:

• Transportation of all precast and prestressed elements from SCP Factory to site
• Cranage and lifting operations, carefully planned to ensure safe, efficient installation and minimal disruption to the construction programme

By managing both transport and cranage in-house, SCP was able to provide Fulton Hogan with greater certainty around sequencing, handling, and on-site efficiency, reducing interfaces and overall project risk.

Delivering Critical Water Infrastructure

The Pomona Road Reservoir project highlights SCP’s ability to deliver complex prestressed concrete systems for essential water infrastructure assets. Through close collaboration with Fulton Hogan, SCP provided high-quality precast solutions supported by coordinated logistics and lifting services, contributing to a streamlined construction programme and a durable, long-lasting 2,500 m³ water storage facility.
